The Varsity softball team suffered their first league loss Friday night as they split with Mason.
Game one went in the Gladiators favor ending after 6 innings with a score of 12-2. In six innings, pitcher Leah Ash allowed 4 hits, 1 earned run and struck out 8 Bulldogs. The Gladiators helped Ash out by putting together 16 hits in game one including seven double and two triples. Arin Szumlinski and Peyton Boden each had 3 RBI's.
Game two slipped away from the Gladiators as they entered the bottom of the 7th with a 5 to 3 lead but lost after giving up three runs in the last inning. Ash pitched the complete second game allowing 8 hits, 4 earned runs and struck out 9. Parker Douglass and Emmalee Felver each had a double in the night cap while Lexi Border recorded 2 RBI's.
The Gladiators are now 11-9 (5-1 league).
