Gladiators look to improve after a tough weekend

The Varsity softball team competed in the Farmington Hills Mercy softball tournment on Saturday April 13th. Throughout the day the Gladiators played against Farmington Hills Mercy, Livonia Stevenson, Linden and Holly. Even though the team lost all four games, each game showed where improvements are needed as well as where the team has already improved this year. Senior Leah Ash pitched 8 innings throughout the day giving up 14 hits, 6 earned runs and striking out 9 batters. Freshman Carlie Atcheson pitched 5 innings, giving up 8 hits, 4 earned runs and striking out 2 batters. Leading the Gladiators offense for the day was sophomore Morgan Byerle who went 5 for 8 with two triples and Ashlee Dailey who also went 5 for 8. Peyton Boden also had a good day at the plate going 3 for 6.

The Gladiators are now 2-6 and look to improve against East Lansing on April 15th.
