The Gladiators bounced back on Tuesday night from two tough losses last week defeating Corunna 19-3 (4 innings) and 14-3 (5 innings). Senior Leah Ash got the win on the mound in game one allowing 3 hits and striking out 7 of the Caviler batters. Ash also belted a homerun in her first at bat of the season. The bats were hot for the whole team in game one as the Gladiators strung together 15 hits in the game. Arin Szumlinski had two doubles while Parker Douglass, Lindsey Darby and Ash also added doubles in game one.
Game two followed the same suit with Freshman Carlie Atcheson pitching for the Gladiators. She allowed 6 hits and struck out 6 Cavilers. The Gladiators capitalized on their four hits in the night cap which came from Morgan Byerle (double), Arin Szumlinski (triple), Peyton Boden and Lindsey Darby.
The Gladiators are now 2-2 and travel to Dewitt on Thursday to take on the Panthers.
