Girls XC Place 3rd in CAAC Red with 8 Personal Records Set

The Fowlerville girls cross country team raced strong at Haslett securing 3rd place in the CAAC Red on Wednesday, October 14. The Lady Glads moved up two places from last year with 4 girls earning CAAC Honors. 
Every girl raced like a champion on Wednesday posting 8 personal records and 1 seasons best times on the beautiful 5000m cross country course at Haslett. Senior Lilly Copeland had a strong race from start to finish leading the Gladiators placing 4th in a time of 20:07 just a second away from her season's best securing 1st team All -Conference honors and her highest finish in the CAAC. Freshman Molly Kilpela continues to improve running a season's best time of 20:50 placing 14th earning All-Conference 2nd team honors. Sophomore Annie Beach ran a personal best time of 21:12 placing 17th earning All-Conference honorable mention. Avery Copeland came back strong this race running a personal record time of 21:19 and 18th in the league earning All-Conference honorable mention. Sophomore Alaina Borowy also came back strong this race securing the third place finish for the Gladiator in the final scoring spot by running a personal best time of 21:43. Junior Gabby Damerow followed closely placing 25th in a time of 21:55 and Sophomore Allie Davis placed 26th with a personal best time of 22:11 to round out the top 7 for the Gladiators. 


In the JV race, almost every girl ran a season's or personal best time showing tremendous growth in their last race of the season. Sophomore Trisha Seiter led the way in a personal best time of 23:05 showing much promise in her first year with the team. Junior Reagan Esch followed closely with a time of 23:10. Junior Amanda Fogo raced to a new personal record time of 23:36 cutting nearly 40 seconds off her previous time at Haslett. On her heels, Junior Jenna Gill came through just 3 seconds later in a time of 23:39. Isabella Damerow battled through a tough freshman season showing much improvement racing to a new personal record in her final race with a time of 24:53 showing much promise in the future. Senior Ramsey Lukasik finished her cross country career running her best race of the season with a time of 25:24. Her finish was evident she was leaving it all on the course. She raced as she has lead our program, with strength, passion and dedication. Thank you Ramsey for your leadership and hard work the past four years. You are a true Gladiator!
