The Fowlerville girl cross country team had a breakout day racing at the Stockbridge Invitational on Friday, October 2. The girls took advantage of the flat double loop 5000m course and earned 7 Personal records and 4 season's best times in their best performances this season.
The Lady Gladiators stepped up while a one of their varsity teammates recover from an injury. Senior Lilly Copeland continues to lead the Lady Glads placing 9th and cutting over 30 seconds off her season's best time and just 10 seconds away from her PR crossing the line in 20:06.5. It only took an impressive 19 seconds for the remaining scorers for the Gladiators to cross the finish line. Freshman Molly Kilpela continues to drop time racing to a new PR of 21:26.4 placing 16th. Just seconds later sophomore Annie Beach crossed the finish running a new season's best time of 21:30.7 placing 17th. Placing 22nd came sophomore Alaina Borowy running a personal record time of 21:44 placing 22nd and already cutting over 2 minutes off her time from last season. One second later came junior Gabby Damerow cutting nearly 45 seconds off her best time to run a new PR of 21:45.6. Junior Reagan Esch rounded out the scoring placing 32nd running a new season's best time of 23:10.4.
The Gladiators ran a strong Junior Varsity race as well placing 2nd. The JV team was led by sophomore Allie Davis placing 5th cutting nearly a minute off her best time running a PR time 22:31.6. Sophomore Trisha Seiter placed 6th running a new PR time of 23:17. Junior Jenna Gill placed 8th running a new PR time 23:30. Junior Amanda Fogo placed 11th with a time of 24:57. Isabella Damerow placed 12th running a new PR time of 25:17, and senior Ramsey Lukasik rounded out the JV squad placing 15th running a season's best time of 25:55. Great racing ladies! Your teamwork and hard work is paying off on the course.
The Gladiators will have their last home meet hosting a tough Mason team in the last of the CAAC Red duels on Tuesday, October 6th. Boys run at 5pm and girls at 5:40p. This will also be our senior night. Hope you can come out and support.
