The Gladiators had their first home match of the season last night against Portland. The Gladiators came out and controlled much of the 1st half but gave their opponents too much of the ball and Portland scored with seconds left of the half. In the second half the Glads came out flying scoring a goal within 2 minutes of the playing in the second half. Brayden Winters played the ball to Ryan Laimonis who took space and passed to Jon Harmon who played back to Ryan Laimonis for the goal. The second goal came from a corner kick that Ryan found Rogelio Rodriguez for a tap in. The Glads finished the scoring when Ryan stole the ball from a Portland player found Brayden who had a great touch to Ian Hartke for a break away goal. Owen Smith played a great game in net making 13 out of 14 saves. The Gladiators travel to Charlotte tomorrow (8/19) and to Lansing Waverly Monday (8/22).
