The Gladiators hosted Howell in the 1st match of the season on Wednesday night. The game was a fast paced game in the first half as Preston Szura netting the opening goal as he chipped the keeper who was off his line. Howell came back and scored the next 2 goals. Rogelio Rodriguez was pulled down in the box and Jack Wylie scored from the penalty spot making the score 2-2. Howell finished the 1st half with one last goal taking the lead into halftime 3-2. The game slowed down and the Glads started to gain more and more of the possession. Howell had a shot and miscommunication between the Glads back line and the keeper led to an own goal putting the visitors up 4-2. Jack Wylie off a free kick found Preston with a header bringing the Glads to within one. The last 10 minutes of the game was a flurry of pressure from the Glads on Howell's back line. The Glads could not put in the equalizer leaving the score 4-3. The Glads next game is home on the 20th as JV will host Okemos at 5:00 p.m. with Varsity hosting Charlotte at 6:30 p.m
