The Varsity softball team dropped two games against Ionia on Monday night, 8-5 and 6-5. Carlie Atcheson pitched the first 5 innings in game one, giving up 8 hits, 4 earned runs and struck out 6 batters. Leah Ash pitched the 6th inning striking out 2. Lindsey Darby, Morgan Byerle and Parker Douglass accounted for all 9 of the Gladiator hits in game one, getting 3 hits a piece. 

Ash started game two, pitching the first 3 innings. She allowed 3 hits, one earned run and struck out 3 batters. Atcheson finished the game on the mound pitching 4 innings giving up 4 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 5. Peyton Boden was 2 for 3 in the night cap including a double.

The Gladiators are now 15-11 and will compete in the Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame Softball Classic on Tuesday night. They will kick off the tournament against league opponent St. John's at 6 pm at Ranney Park.
