Velazquez tabbed to lead Gladiators!

The Fowlerville High School Athletic Department is proud to announce the hiring of Justin Velazquez as the next Head Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach. 

Coach Justin Velazquez will take over a program that was guided by recently retired coach Michelle Hardenbrook. Hardenbrook led the Gladiators to multiple conference and district championships over her 20-plus year tenure. Coach Velazquez currently resides in Fenton and is a graduate of Monroe High School, spent time in the Air Force as a Staff Sergeant and previously coached at Oakdale Academy in Waterford. 

During his pre-COVID19 interview Coach Velazquez showed his passion for the game, his ability to build relationships and a drive that will continue to build the program. Velazquez also works with multiple teams at the Brighton Legacy Center in their National and State Legends programs. “I am very grateful to be given this opportunity as the head coach of Fowlerville High School. I am super passionate as a coach and dedicate a lot of time helping my players to become the best player they can be. I can’t wait to share my experiences and the wisdom that I have gained over the years,” stated coach Velazquez.

Brian Osborn, FHS Athletic Director, commented, “Coach Velazquez will continue to build on the job that Coach Michelle Hardenbrook started, an emphasis will be put on player development at all levels. His knowledge of the game, ability to provide the necessary in-game adjustments and the willingness to develop relationships will keep the future bright for Fowlerville Volleyball!”
