Fowlerville High School Selects Lisa Cox as Varsity Girls Basketball Coach

Lisa Cox has been selected as the new varsity Head Coach of the Fowlerville Girls Basketball program. Cox replaces Billy Selvia who resigned in August. 

Cox has been on the Gladiator’s staff the previous six seasons, most recently as the Varsity assistant under Selvia. Coach Cox is looking to build from the ground up. She will be focusing on fundamentals, instilling a mindset that we will work hard, we will compete everyday and we will be disciplined. The staff will build relationships that are needed to help these young women grow as students, athletes and as individuals. Cox believes in a “Team First” approach to building the girls basketball program into a contender. 

Prior to her arrival in Fowlerville, Cox most recently spent time as the head coach at Waterford Kettering High School. Cox is a graduate of Traverse City Central and played collegiately at Saginaw Valley State university. Cox returned to the Traverse City area coaching JV Girls basketball then assisting Hall of Fame coach Patti Tibaldi at the varsity level. 

Cox will meet with players on Tuesday, October 12th at 5:45 pm in the Aux Gym. This meeting is for all girls interested in playing Freshman, JV and Varsity basketball this winter. Coach will go over upcoming training opportunities, share her vision for the program and share dates for tryouts that begin in November.
